There is only one city… one place in India that really knows how to celebrate the New Year and has celebrated it faithfully and cheerfully for the past many decades. Like New York's Times Square the bon homie that exists along Park Street in the gay, bustling Bengali metropolis of Calcutta, every New Year, is infectious. Folks sporting hats wander up and down the street wishing passersby. Restaurants and bars flash bright lights. And this evanescent atmosphere is more soul cheering then anything you can purchase at a premium at a five star hotel or on a cruise ship or at a wild party.
