If you have one day

Visit the Charminar and Lad Bazar, the Mecca Masjid and the Salar Jung Museum. Try to fit in a tour through Dhoolpeth too. Alternately, spend the whole day or at least a half day at Golconda Fort.

If you have two days

On the second day visit Vinayak Sagar. Check out Film Nagar or Faluknam Palace. In the afternoon, visit Kondapuram.

If you have five days

Spend the morning of the third day viewing the rock formations around Hyderabad or visit Sanghinagar. In the afternoon, head towards Moula Ali Hills for a spectacular view of the twin cities or alternately pop up to the Birla Temple.
If you are in Hyderabad on a Thursday, check out the Jummeraat Bazar. On the fourth day, take a day trip out to Anantgiri Hills or Keesarigutta or Sathamcheruvu or Warangal or Nagarjunakonda. Alternately, spend the fourth and fifth day at Shamirpet or Kurnool or Amravathi.
