Brazilian President Rousseff's popularity is at an all-time low after spending a massive US $11 billion on hosting the World Cup while millions of Brazilians are struggling to make ends meet.

President Rousseff was also the target of abusive chants during the Opening Ceremony of the World Cup and whenever she turned up for the matches.

People vented their anger in form of violent protests ahead of the World Cup opening ceremony, on Friday.
