AC Milan's veteran forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has suffered an injury in training, several Italian media reports said on Monday.

The 38-year-old Swede pulled up at the end of the session, possibly with a calf muscle problem, according to Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia, among others. There was no immediate comment from the club itself.

Ibrahimovic spent some of the COVID-19 stoppage training with Hammarby in Sweden but had to go into quarantine when he returned to Italy earlier this month.

He sparked a revival when he joined Milan on a six-month spell in January for a second stint at the club.

Serie A has been suspended since March 9 and the government is due to decide on Thursday if and when it can restart. AC Milan, seventh in the table with 36 points, began training again last week.

Atletico Madrid's record signing Joao Felix is likely to miss the start of the Spanish soccer season when it resumes next month after sustaining a sprained knee in training on Monday.

Atleti said in a statement the 20-year-old, who cost the club 126 million euros ($137.31 million) from Benfica last year, had sprained the medial ligament in his left knee.

The club's statement did not say when the Portugal forward could expect to return from the injury, although Spanish media reports said he would be out of action for around three weeks.

The Spanish government has approved the top two divisions resuming action without spectators from June 8, although La Liga president Javier Tebas has said the league hopes to re-start from June 11.

Atletico were sixth in La Liga when play was halted in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic with 11 rounds of matches remaining.

They are due to visit Athletic Bilbao next when the season starts up again.
