Is 'Big Head' Brazil's answer to Germany's 'Paul' the Octopus?

The animal’s predictions for the FIFA World Cup have begun. And guess what, the host nation Brazil gets Big Head turtle’s vote of confidence.

Big Head looks like Brazil's answer to Germany's Paul the Octopus.

Paul, the German octopus became an international sensation after he correctly predicted each of Germany's World Cup matches -- including their two losses. Paul also correctly tipped Spain to defeat Netherlands in the final.

The loggerhead turtle picked Brazil to beat Croatia in World Cup Opener. Within a few hours Big Head’s psychic powers will be put to test. The host nation will surely be praying for the turtle’s prediction to be true.

While, Paul, who started the psychic animal craze and correctly predicted each of Germany's 2010 World Cup matches, got his own permanent memorial after his death in October 2010.

The Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany, unveiled the 2- metre tall plastic replica of Paul clutching a football in its eight arms on January 21, 2011.

Dubbed "Paul's Corner," the centerpiece of the memorial will be the octopus oracle's urn.

The mystic mollusc would foresee the winner of the soccer match by choosing a mussel from two transparent boxes adorned with the competitors' flags. The mussel from the box that Paul chose was considered his prediction.

During the height of Paul's popularity, scores of reporters and photographers crowded around the octopus' tank when he made his predictions. The picks were also broadcast on live television in Germany and across parts of Europe.
