India's Swarn Singh Virk finished fourth in the heats of the single sculls event of rowing competition at the London Olympics on Saturday.

Virk, who took 6:54.04 to complete the 2km distance in heat number one at Eton Dorney Rowing Centre, will compete in the repechage round on Sunday to see if he can advance further.

Tim Maeyens of Belgium won the heat in 6:42.52 while Fournier Rodriguez of Cuba and Patrick Loliger Salas of Mexico were second and third in 6:46.35 and 6:46.35 respectively. The top three directly qualifies for the quarterfinal round.
