Karandeep Kochhar, one of the stalwarts of the Indian Golf Premier League, fired a second straight bogey free round was one shot off the lead with a six-under 65 at the USD 2 million International Series Japan.
Kochhar (67-65) is 10-under at the Par-71 course.
The only other Indian making the cut was the legend Jeev Milkha Singh (72-69), who produced a late birdie on the 17th to squeeze inside the cut line at 1-under.
Kochhar who had three birdies and no bogeys on Day 1, had five birdies and no bogeys in the second round. In the second round, Kochhar parred the first five holes and then birdied the sixth and the eighth before adding four more on 11th, 13th, 14th and the 16th.
The other Indians who failed to make the cut and they includes Gaganjeet. Bhullar (73-74), Shaurya Bhattacharya (75-69), Jyoti Randhawa (80-69) and SSP Chawrasia (77-79).
In the first round, Kochhar started on the tenth and parred his first nine holes. In his second nine, he had four birdies for a 4-under 67 and was in Top-10.
