Sachin joins the 4000 club

Sachin Tendulkar joined the elite 4000 club, becoming the 7th Indian and 61st player to cross 4000 runs in Test cricket when he reached 55 with a huge six off Kumara Dharmasena on day two of the Pepsi Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Bombay.

Playing in his 58th Test, Sachin becomes the youngest Indian to reach the milestone, though Sunil Gavaskar got their a bit faster, in his 43rd Test and 81st innings.

Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar has the highest average among the Indian members of the club. Here are the full stats:
