Indian challenge ends in Judo

India's challenge in the judo competition at the Asian Games ended on Thursday ninght with Akram Shah failing to make a mark in the 60kg category.

Shah, however, managed to enter the final round of the repechage, defeating Khaled Aldhafeeri of Kuwait, but could not progress further.

India put up a dismal performance in the event yesterday also with Bhupinder Singh losing to Mir Esmaelli Arash of Iran in the second round in the 66kg category.

In the women's section Brojeshori Devi had lost in the first first round.

India fielded a three-member team at the Games but never looked a serious contenders for a medal.
