India begins their campaign in the Asia/Oceania Zone Group I Federation Cup with a relatively easy tie against Indonesia in Bangkok on Wednesday.

The Sania Mirza-led team has been clubbed alongwith Australia, New Zealand [Images] and Indonesia. Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Thailand and Uzbekistan form the other pool of Group I.

Other team members are Shikha Uberoi, Sunitha Rao and Isha Lakhani.

Australia, who are top seeded in Asia/Oceania Zone Group I, will be India's toughest opponent and they are seeking to reclaim their position in the Fed Cup elite group.

The league winners of each pool will play off, with the winning team advancing to the World Group II Play-offs in April.

India finished fourth in Asia/Oceania Zone Group I last year and remains in that group for this year.

It's best performance in the womens' team competition so far has been reaching the Asia/Oceania Group I final in 2006.
