Shiv Kapur sizzled with a five-under 67 to jump 19 places to tied 10th, while Jyoti Randhawa also made upward strides rising to tied 16th with a three-under 69 in the penultimate round of the Volvo Masters of Asia in Bangkok on Saturday.

Day II report

Kapur's total stands at five-under 211, while Randhawa followed him a stroke adrift at four-under 212.

Kapur was off to a sensational start, gaining a stroke on the first hole before following it up with a hat-trick of birdies from the fourth to sixth holes. A bogey on the eight was the lone blot in his front nine as he made the turn three-under.

The backward journey turned out equally good as he picked up three birdies against one bogey for his best performance of the tournament so far.

Randhawa, meanwhile, also had a brilliant day as he sank in four birdies against a lone dropped shot in the back nine.

Further down the leaderboard, Gaganjeet Bhullar too turned in a 69 to be tied for the 20th spot with a total of three-under 213.

Jeev Milkha Singh [Images] carded a second successive 70 -- studded with an eagle and three birdies against three bogeys -- to rise 16 notches to tied 20th with a total of even-par 216. The seasoned Indian shared the spot with among others compatriot SSP Chowrasia (72).

Veteran Gaurav Ghei returned a horrendous 77 to go one-over 217 and slip to the tied 27th spot, while Digvijay Singh turned in a horrible five-over 77 to take his tally to 225 at tied 63rd.

Meanwhile, amateur golfers Rashid Khan (73) and Rahul Bakshi (76), who got an invitation after their good show at the Faldo series, were tied 59th and 66th with an aggregate of seven-over 223 and 12-over 228 respectively.

At the top, there is a five way tie among David Gleeson (63), Chapchai Nirat (70), Chawalit Plaphol (69), Lam Chih Bing (72) and Marcus Both (70) with a three-day total of nine-under 207.
