Achanta Sharath Kamal registered a convincing victory over National champion Shubhajit Saha to enter the men's singles final in the US $25,000 Indian Open Table Tennis Championships in Delhi on Sunday.

The fifth seed won 11-6, 16-14, 11-8, 11-6 to book his first ITTF Pro Tour final berth, also the first for any Indian paddler.

The Chennai boy had scored a major upset over Yang Zi of Singapore on Saturday and carried on his fine form against Saha, who had beaten Sharath at the last National championships.

In the final, Sharath will clash with top seed Gao Ning of Singapore, who beat Tosic Roko of Croatia 11-7, 12-10, 11-8, 11-8.

In the women's singles semi-finals, Poloumi Ghatak bagged a surprise final berth after Singapore'a Yu Meng Yu, seeded second, conceded a walkover due to health problems.

Ghatak will meet top seed Sun Bei Bei, who beat compatriot Ma Ling Lu 13-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-7.
