The Indian men's 4x100m relay team was withdrawn from the Asian Games contingent on Thursday after it failed to impress in trials at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Delhi.

The Athletics Federation of India conducted trials for the men's and women's 4x100m relay teams in presence of the selection committee members.

The men's team clocked 39.84 seconds, which was way below the desired mark, in the second trial after which the selectors decided to drop it.Missing the flight to Doha are Arunjit Sivadasan Nair, Arvind Alaguvel, B G Nagraj, Vilas Shivappa Neelgund, Amit Kumar Saha and Vishal Kumar Saxena.

The athletics contingent will now have 37 men and women.

The women's 4x100m team, however, improved upon their performance in the last trials and clocked 45.44 second in their second trial on Thursday.
