England [Images] captain David Beckham [Images] is sure that he will reach an agreement to continue at Real Madrid [Images] beyond the end of his current contract.

"We'll start to talk about it before the summer. There is a 99 percent chance I will sign an extension here," the 30-year-old midfielder was reported as saying by sports daily Marca on Tuesday.

"I am in no doubt that I want to stay. What we have agreed is that we are in the middle of the season with very important club commitments that come first.

"They know I want to continue and I know they want me to stay."

Beckham has been in fine form recently and was one of Real's best performers in the 4-0 demolition of Espanyol in the Primera Liga at the weekend.

He signed a four-year contract with Real in 2003 after leaving Manchester United [Images] for a fee of up to 35 million euros (24 million pounds).

Beckham, who has yet to win a major trophy with Real, added: "I am moving into my new house at the moment and the club know that. I wouldn't have bought a new house in Madrid if I was going to leave.

"I am at one of the greatest clubs in the world. Why would I want to leave anyway?"

Real are third in the league, 10 points behind leaders Barcelona, and play their King's Cup semi-final first leg away to Real Zaragoza on Wednesday.
