Mohun Bagan scored in the dying minutes to snatch a 2-1 victory over Eastern Railway 2-1 in a Kolkata Premier Division League match on Friday.

Mehrajuddin Wadoo put Bagan ahead early in the game before Bapan Bera equalised in the second session of the match, played at the Barasat stadium.

However, Dipak Mondal found the target in stoppage time of the second half to enable Bagan taste victory after the defeat in their opening match of the league.

The match started off in dramatic fashion as an onrushing Baichung Bhutia was brought down inside the Railway box by Baban Kar.

Mehrajuddin made no mistake while converting the resultant spot-kick.

Eastern Railway drew parity in the 54th minute when Bera netted a firm left-footer from just outside the box.

Jolted by the reverse, Bagan upped the ante, but had to wait till the fag end of the match to score the winning goal.

A Dulal Biswas corner kick was delectably headed by Bhutia, but the ball hit the post. Off the rebound, Mondal was quick to grab the opportunity and slot home amidst a melee in the box.
