Railway FC held Mohammedan Sporting goalless in a Kolkata Senior Division league encounter on Tuesday.

Mohammedan Sporting, who have a star-studded line-up, never did justice to their reputation and put up a below par performance in the Salt Lake stadium encounter.

Sporting came closest to scoring a goal towards the fag end of the second half, but their Brazillian recruit Douglas de Silva's power-packed shot ricocheted off the woodwork.

Pushed on the defensive for a major part of the game, the railway team got a chance late into the second half, but Biplab Naskar failed to find the target despite having the rival goalkeeper at his mercy.

After two matches, Railway FC have one point, the same as Mohammedan Sporting who have played a match less.
