Back injury came back to haunt tennis ace Sania Mirza [Images], this time taking a toll on her rankings, as the teenager, out of action due to a strained muscle, slipped two rungs down to 34 in the singles and five down to 114 in the doubles on the latest WTA leader board.

It was the second consecutive week of downward spiral for Sania, who pulled out of the Thailand Open second round due to a lower back strain recently.
