Shot putter Navpreet Singh won the country's only gold medal as India tallied 11 medals in the third and final leg of the 2005 Asian Grand Prix series in Songkla, Thailand, on Friday.

Navpreet, who had earlier picked a gold and silver in the first two legs, won with an effort that measured 18.77 metres.

India also won the bronze through Ranvijay Singh.

In the men's 100m, Anil Kumar was pushed to second spot by Indonesia's John Murray, who had lost to the Indian in Singapore after beating him in the first leg in Surabaya, Indonesia.

John clocked 10.38 seconds while Anil finished in 10.41.

Piyush Kumar was again third, timing 10.52 seconds.

Besides the gold by Navpreet, India also won five silver and five bronze medals.

In the men's long jump, Maha Singh (7.52m) failed to record a hat-trick of gold medals and settled for the silver behind Song Jian of China, who cleared a distance of 7.98m.

The other silver medal winners for India were Jagdish Bishnoi, in the men's javelin throw, S Geetha, in the women's 400m, and Seema Antil, in the women's discus throw.
