Brazilian striker Ronaldo battles for the ball with Brahim Hemdani.
Ronaldo scored the winner in the 73rd minute after Ahmed Mido had brought Marseille level in the 63rd minute.
The loss to Real Madrid, and Porto's 2-1 victory over Partizan Belgrade, put Marseille out of the competition regardless of the result in their last league match.
