Vishnuvardhan shocks Roy

J Vishnuvardhan of Andhra Pradesh pulled off a major upset, beating top seed Rupesh Roy of West Bengal 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the boys' semi-finals of the Junior national tennis championships in Hyderabad on Friday.

In the second semi-final, third seed Aditya Madkekar of Maharashtra had little difficulty in subduing his statemate Sourab Kohli 6-4, 6-2.

In all-Andhra semi-finals, P Meghana came from behind to defeat K Puja 3-1, 6-2, 6-4 while Punam Reddy surprised second seed S Gangothri 6-4, 6-1.
