Sunita Rani bags gold in World Police meet

In her first international appearance since coming out clean from the Busan Asian Games doping scandal, long-distance runner Sunita Rani on Wednesday won a gold medal in the World Fire and Police meet being held in Barcelona, Spain.

Sunita, a Deputy Superintendent with the Punjab Police, won the yellow metal in the 5000 metres, her brother Surinder Kumar told PTI at Delhi on Wednesday.

The athlete, who had won a gold medal in the women's 1500 metres in Busan, will be competing in 10,000 metres as well, which will be held on Thursday.
