Anju George sixth in Madrid

India's ace long jumper Anju Bobby George finished sixth in the IAAF Super Grand Prix Series in Madrid, Spain.

Anju, who made her Grand Prix debut at the Peroni Golden Gala meet in Rome last week, touched a distance of 6.54 metres on Saturday night, according to information on the IAAF website.

The 25-year-old Keralite's personal best is 6.74m, which she equalled in Delhi last year before her bronze medal
winning effort in the Commonwealth Games.

Ukraine's Inessa Kravets won the gold leaping to a distance of 6.76m beating Commonwealth and European silver
medallist Jade Johnson (6.69) of England.

Jamaican Elva Golbourne (6.68), who won the gold at the Manchester Commonwealth Games, was third while German star Heike Drechsler did not finish the competition.
