United duo escape bans for Arsenal fracas

December 02, 2003 10:39 IST

Manchester United players Ryan Giggs and Christiano Ronaldo have been fined and reprimanded by the Football Association for their part in a fracas during and after a Premier League game against Arsenal in September.

An FA spokesman on Monday said Giggs and Ronaldo had been found guilty of improper conduct and fined 7,500 pounds and 4,000 pounds respectively, but both escaped bans.

Last month the FA fined Arsenal and several of their players a total of 275,000 pounds for their involvement in the incidents on September 21.

Four Arsenal players -- Patrick Vieira, Martin Keown, Ray Parlour and Lauren -- also received suspensions totalling nine games.
