Sania, Isha make early exit

Indian junior girls Sania Mirza and Isha Lakhani made an early exit, losing their first round matches to lowly-ranked opponents in the junior singles at the US Open on Tuesday.

Isha, who is ranked 30th in the ITF listings, went down to 53rd-ranked Chin-Wei Chan of Chinese Taipei 3-6, 2-6, in her first round match, while Sania, ranked 36th, lost to 49th-ranked Shadisha Robinson of the United States 6-1, 2-6, 4-6.

In the doubles, the duo are seeded sixth and will face Sarah Fansler and Allesandra Jordon of the United States in the first round.
