China's Wang Nan wins women's TT singles gold

China's Wang Nan beat her doubles partner Li Ju in the women's singles table tennis final Sunday for her second gold medal of the Sydney Olympics and to give China a third title in the tournament.

Only the men's singles remain to be decided.

Top seed Wang beat Li, the number two seed, 21-12 12-21 19-21 21-17 21-18 in the thrilling all-China match.

The pair had won the women's doubles gold on Friday.

Taiwan's Chen Jing picked up the bronze medal to give her a complete set, having won gold for China at Seoul in 1988 and silver for Taiwan in Atlanta in 1996.

Chen ended Singapore's hopes for their first Olympics medal in 40 years when she beat Jing Jun Hong, who previously also lived in and played for China, 18-21 21-14 21-15 21-10.
