A massive thunderstorm caused flash flooding in Toronto, cutting power to 3,00,000 in the city, shutting down subways, and leaving about 1,400 passengers stranded for hours on a commuter train. The storm beat a record set by Hurricane Hazel in 1954 for the most rainfall in a single day, with 126 mm recorded at Pearson Airport.
Environment Canada predicts more thunderstorms for southern Ontario on Wednesday along with hail and strong winds.
