The Supreme Court has sought the opinion of the central vigilance commissioner as to whether prosecution should be launched against former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati in the Taj heritage corridor scam.
The SC on Monday transferred the entire Central Bureau of Investigation case file to the CVC.
The direction came in the wake of the attorney general's opinion that the case against Mayawati could be closed.
