3 NGOs move SC over Scorpene deal

Three non-governmental organisations have filed a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court, seeking an independent probe into the alleged payment of kickbacks in the Rs 16,000 crore Scorpene submarine deal.

The petitioners - Centre for Public Interest Litigation, Citizens Forum Against Corruption and Transparency International India - also sought action against beneficiaries of the alleged commission of Rs 640 crore in the deal.
