Four people, including a student, were injured after a sound box system collapsed during the pre-release event of actor Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups at a private university in Hyderabad, the police said on Sunday.
The accident occurred at Malla Reddy University in Medchal on Saturday night when the actor was addressing a large gathering of fans from the stage.
Investigation Into Event Safety
A group of young attendees had climbed on the sound box system stand, which suddenly collapsed. Four people fell and sustained injuries. All four were taken to a hospital, police said.
"One student suffered a leg fracture while three others had minor injuries," a senior police official said.
A case was registered against the management of the institution and the event manager in connection with the incident.
On seeing the structure collapse, the actor briefly stopped his speech to check on the audience.
"Is it okay there? Please check...be careful. Are you safe?" Yash asked.
He later urged another group, which apparently climbed another elevated structure to get down before resuming his address.
'Toxic', written by Yash and Mohandas, is billed as an action-thriller saga set in Goa between the early 1940s and the 1970s. In the film, the "KGF" star plays the role of Raya, a gangster.
