November 01, 2005 16:38 IST

A strong aftershock shook Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday, but no casualty or damage was reported.

  • Quake hits North India

The quake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, was recorded at 1233 IST, the Met department said.

Its epicentre was near Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, where the devastating quake of December 8 was also centred.

The region has been rocked by scores of earthquakes since the deadly temblor.
