Former Pak PM arrives on 5-day visit

March 28, 2005 17:50 IST

Former Pakistan prime minister and ruling Pakistan Muslim League leader Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain arrived in New Delhi on Monday.

He is on a five-day visit that is believed to be linked to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's visit to India on April 16.

Hussain, through "Track-II" diplomacy, is expected to do the groundwork for Musharraf's visit.

Hussain, who is likely to meet United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi and other top leaders, said his visit is part of the confidence building measures currently underway between the two countries.
