The chief judicial magistrate hearing the high-profile Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi poaching case on Monday said he had been receiving threatening calls against granting bail to the former cricket captain.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Sudhir Jiwan made the disclosure in the courtroom in Jhajhar after granting bail to Pataudi, who had been in police custody for the last two days.

Jiwan, however, did not reveal from whom he got the calls.

Pataudi, who had been accused along with seven others of killing a black buck and two hare, had surrendered before the court on Saturday after evading arrest for a fortnight.

He was sent to a day's police custody, which was extended by another day on Sunday.

Some organisations and communities have accused the police of going slow in the investigations of the case.
