Warring Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Bilal Gani Lone were put on Monday put under house arrest as Jammu and Kashmir officials feared a law and order problem at the amalgam's headquarters at Raj Bagh in Srinagar, police said.
Police informed the two warring leaders about the orders at 0700 IST.
The Geelani faction had called a meeting at the Muslim League office while the group loyal to Hurriyat chairman Maulvi Abbas Ansari has convened a meeting at the conglomerate's headquarters.
Police feared a clash among their supporters, police added.
