Pakistani UAV intrudes into Indian airspace

January 01, 2003 00:02 IST

For the fifth time in a fortnight, a Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle on Tuesday intruded into Indian airspace in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector, official sources said.

"A Pakistani UAV 'tow' crossed into Indian airspace at 1245 hours and remained airborne for over 15 minutes in Mendhar area of Poonch sector," they told the Press Trust of India in Jammu.

Indian troops fired at the UAV from anti-aircraft guns, forcing it to return to Pakistani airspace, the sources said.
