Conference of chief ministers likely in Feb: Advani

A conference of chief ministers is likely to be held in New Delhi in February to discuss internal security, police reforms, and new crimes like cyber-crimes, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani said.

In the run-up to the conference, chief secretaries and director generals of police of all states and Union territories will meet on Tuesday, Advani said while on his way to Mumbai from Hyderabad on Sunday night.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would inaugurate the chief ministers' conference. Advani will inaugurate Tuesday's conference to be attended by Ministers of State for Home I D Swami and Vidyasagar Rao and officials of the Union home ministry and chiefs of all Central police organisations.
