The Earthquake Message Board: United in Grief

As the rest of the nation celebrated Republic Day, Gujarat had been laid low by the worst earthquake in 50 years.

Ahmedabad, Bhuj, Bhachchao, Anjaar... bustling townships today resemble a ghost town.

Even as tragedy spreads its cruel tentacles, bereaving families by the thousands, the indomitable human spirit has emerged from the debris. Keeping aside personal tragedy and personal differences, the Indian people have rallied together as they do in times of calamity. NGOs have jumped in with assistance, corporate titans have assured help, and the citizenry itself is going about relief work, rebuilding Gujarat.

Do post your condolences for the victims. Let us show that we are with them in this hour of crisis, in thought at least if not in person.
