With corruption rankings, the White-Anglo-Saxon-White Caucasian countries have succeeded in discovering a replacement for the old form of imperialistically deracinating the rest of the world, argues Sudarshan Madabushi.
I took a good deep look at this infographic above and what I can immediately infer from it is that the SMEs (subject matter experts) and the statisticians who pictorially authored it are convinced the whole world is corrupt -- in 50 shades of red and orange -- except the White-Anglo-Saxon-White Caucasian countries (WASWCC)!
Throughout much of world history, you and I must remember, it was the same WASWCC that indeed invaded, colonised, ravaged and looted the world, using their sheer, brutal and superior military force.
Backed by such awesome military force, the WASWCC carried on flourishing trade and commerce for many centuries with the nations they had colonised on terms that were known beyond doubt to be predatory, corrupt and buccaneering.
Such trade and commerce enriched and empowered all the WASWCC fabulously but bled and condemned the slave-nations to economic anaemia for decades thereafter.
It was, thus, in and through that long historical process of military and mercantile colonisation that the very meaning of the word 'corruption' first entered the lexicon and into the psyche of the societies that were yoked into submission and slavery by White imperialism.
It was thanks to the legacy of their past colonial experience that one must say these brutalised peoples and nations came to be later fully aware of -- and familiar with -- what it means to exploit and to be exploited and how to do it. After all, what is really corruption, as defined today, all about? It's nothing more really than exploitation in any one form or the other, isn't it?
After all, just think about it. Wasn't venal exploitation of a country's natural resources, of its raw materials and of its treasury corruption?
Wasn't the imposition of punitive taxes on poor helpless natives corruption?
Wasn't the slave trade corruption?
Wasn't the looting of relics, art and artefacts from the native lands corruption?
Weren't the so-called imperial governments foisted on native peoples to 'divide and rule them' corruption?
Wasn't the fomenting of bloody civil wars and savage ethnic conflicts amongst the colonised societies corruption?
Wasn't leaving behind at last, as we know in India, a free country partitioned and vivisected too a prime and heinous example of cynical, immoral corruption?
If one were now to take into account such instances described above of historical atrocities perpetrated by the WASWCC; and if they were to be then all depicted on a world map in 50 different shades of how the age of global corruption was ushered into large parts of the world by the military-mercantile juggernaut of WASWCC imperialism; and how thus the natives in time, after the imperialists had left, got 'educated' and 'trained' in the great art and practice of exploitative corruption in the true Macaulayan sense of imperial acculturation; imagine then how the recast infographic of global corruption might look like in contrast to the one you see above!
While the WASWCC will never tire of claiming and asserting how the White Man brought civilisation and enlightenment to the dark, primitive and pagan races of the world through Christian religion and scientific knowledge, they will never however record it in their history textbooks that they also took with them the pox, syphilis and corruption and injected them all into the veins, lives, social structures and intercourse of the peoples they colonised for hundreds of years.
However, with white imperialism waning in the 20th century and previously colonised nations gaining their freedoms, a new strain or variety of imperialism seems to be beginning to emerge and is now being practised by the same WASWCC.
It's very much firmly based on the old cardinal principle of 'dividing and ruling' the world.
Let's for the sake of simplicity and clarity call it the neo-racism of the new WASWCC.
Modern neo-racist imperialism divides the whole world today not in terms of the old binary of 'primitive vs modern' or 'enlightened vs superstitious peoples', but into the new manifold classification of variants such as: 'open democracies vs tyrannies', 'free-market globalised vs protective xenophobic economies', 'liberal-feminist vs conservative-patriarchal societies', 'climate-changers vs climate-polluters', 'pro-lifers vs pro-choicers', 'digital-netizens vs digital illiterates', 'OECD vs non-OECD', 'Vaxxers vs anti-Vaxxers' and so on and so forth.
Using the template of the above new-age binary distinctions of neo-racism, the neo-WASWCC today are able to apply specious ranking methodologies to create virtual but un-virtuous hierarchies amongst the nations of the rest of the world.
In other words, WASWCC are able to create 50 different shades and hues of national identities that are today defined by and centred around sets of binary-criteria which the WASWCC themselves have created and crafted.
The rest of the world is conveniently, and rather superciliously, ranked on a differential scale that the WASWCC themselves have conceived and designed to serve them as a sophisticated model mirroring the spectrum-range of characteristics into which the world can be slotted, scored, ranked, identified and labelled.
In this way, WASWCC has succeeded in discovering a replacement for the old form of imperialistically deracinating the rest of the world.
Now, if you didn't at first really understand what exactly to make of the above infographic on global corruption, well, at least now you should be aware that the way it has been conceived and constructed is no more than another slick and perfect illustration of WASWCC's worldview -- an outlook on the world that seeks only to 'divide and rule' it by and through a new system of imperial racination and exploitation that defines national identities and peoples on a scale of the 'most' and 'least' Corrupt.
