PM announces ex-gratia for Assam blast victims

President Pratibha Patil [Images] in her condolence message to the people of Assam said that violence had no place in society.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh [Images], has strongly condemned the serial blasts in Assam.

While expressing grief over the loss of lives in the Assam bomb blasts, the PM sanctioned ex-gratia from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the tune of Rs 1 lakh each to the next of kin of the persons deceased and Rs.50,000 each to the persons injured in bomb blast which occurred in Assam.

Leader of the opposition L K Advani [Images] in a statement said that the incident once again proved dismal record of the Union government in tackling terrorism.
