M R Narayan Swamy, is a distinguished author of two well-researched books on Sri Lanka. Inside An Elusive Mind: Prabhakaran and, Tigers of Lanka: From Boys To Guerrillas. His books give a comprehensive picture of how the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam grew, what the covert and overt role of India was in the politics of Sri Lanka, how Sri Lankan political parties have been responding to national crisis and what Tamil nationalism means.
Swamy's writings also introduce to the world, quite vividly, how strong the commitment of the LTTE cadres and V Prabhakaran is to the cause of Tamil Eelam. His is a rare unauthorised biography of Prabhakaran.
With the Sri Lankan army unilaterally claming that they have advanced deep into LTTE's headquarters at Kilinochchi and the LTTE is pushed to wall like never before, Narayan Swamy, currently deputy editor at Indo-Asian News Service, revisited the dynamics of the Sri Lankan issue in a conversation with rediff.com's Sheela Bhatt.
