The moment was not Obama's alone, it also belonged to that preacher from Atlanta

November 6, 2008
America has not ignored the heroes of its civil rights movement. On buses in Miami -- clearly one of America's more interesting cities -- a placard over a seat notes it is dedicated to Rosa Parks, the black woman who refused to give up her seat for a white person as it was once ordained in that country.

'If not for you (Dr King),' wrote a school boy in a letter preserved at the King Memorial in Atlanta. 'I wouldn't have got down to doing things with my black friends. Thank you.'

Yesterday's moment did not belong to Barack Obama alone. It also belonged to that preacher from Atlanta who once assured a people We Shall Overcome...
