Anita Durrani, who has been charged by the Noida police for her alleged role in the twin murders of Arushi Talwar and Hemraj, and her husband denied any kind of involvement in the case.

In an interview to television channels who landed up at their residence, the two claimed that they were shocked to hear what has been said about Anita Durrani and her so-called affair with Dr Rajesh Talwar, the prime accused in the twin murder case.

"We have seen what has appeared in the media," the husband and wife told journalists.

"Not once have the police come to us to question us about Arushi's murder. All I can say is that she was like a daughter to me," Anita Durrani said.

Though she admitted knowing Dr Rajesh and his wife, she described her relationship more like a family friend than what had been attriibuted to her.

A shattered Anita Durrani denied that she had gone to Hardwar on May 15 along with Dr Talwar.

"I had gone to Dehradun," she said.

Dehradun is one and a half hour drive from Hardwar, a police officer said.

"Why should we say anything. We hoped the police would protect us after it completed the investigations. Now we see all sorts of allegations against my wife," Anita's husband said.
