The Manipur People's Army has launched a series of attacks, including that against three security posts, across the state in which two persons were killed and nine others injured.

Delayed official reports on Monday said the MPA attacked the post of 24th Assam Rifles battalion at T Minou village on Saturday in which a rifleman and a civilian were killed.

Security posts in the border village have been put on maximum alert following the assault.

In a separate incident, nine security personnel were injured in an attack by the insurgents in Chandel district and were airlifted to the army hospital at Leimakhong near Imphal.

The MPA insurgents exploded grenades and opened fire at the post of 23rd Assam Rifles Battalion in interior Sagolmang area in Imphal east district.

The security personnel returned the fire, but no casualty was reported, sources said.

The militants attacked the post of a paramilitary force at Ngaikhong in interior Thoubal district on the same day and according to sources, no one was injured.
