An unidentified gangster demanded an extortion of Rs 5 lakh from Industrial Cooperative Federation Ltd chairman Narain Singh in Patna.

Singh, who is in a wheelchair due to disability, got the extortion demand on his cell phone. The gangster also threatened him of dire consequences if the money is not paid.

Singh lodged an FIR on Monday in the Patliputra police station in Patna in connection with extortion demand.

Industrial Cooperative Federation Ltd is engaged in the production and marketing of edible and agriculture items.

It has launched the Sahyogi brand of edible items in the market.
