The body of Abhijit Mahto, an Indian student who was killed in his apartment near Duke University at Durham, US, is likely to arrive home in Jamshedpur on Saturday.

The local guardian of the 29-year-old student, killed on Friday last, had procured clearance from local authorities and the body will be flown from US on Friday, family sources said in Jamshedpur.

Abhijit, who was doing his PhD at Duke's Pratt school of Engineering, was found in a pool of blood in his apartment on Saturday last. The exact cause of murder is yet to be ascertained, the sources said.

One person has been arrested in connection with the murder.
