A committee has been constituted by the authorities of the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital to probe the behaviour of boys, who allegedly entered the girls' hostel and misbehaved with them, on New Years' eve.

A three member committee, headed by Dr Geeta Singh, has been asked to submit its report latest by January 10. After submission of the report, strict action would be taken against the medicos found guilty by the probe panel, said NMCH Principal Dr C B Choudhry.

Choudhry added that as per information received by him, a few stones were thrown on the doors of the girls' hostel late on Monday night, following which the girls complained to the police. But the whole issue was being blown out of proportion by the electronic media, he alleged.

When contacted, the senior superintendent of police said that no FIR had been lodged in connection with this case either by the students of the NMCH or by the authorities.
