A mock drill at the Mumbai domestic airport on Wednesday afternoon to test the preparedness of security agencies, led to a panic situation.

Passengers called rediff.com to report a bomb scare at the airport, on account of which they were not being allowed to enter the terminals.

The police control room denied there was any bomb hoax at the airport, and said if it was an internal drill they would not know anything about it.

A passenger flying by a private airline, who was earlier asked to stay away, was later told to report back at the airport.

Internal sources confirmed to rediff.com that it was a mock drill.
