'I don't know how many of our customers were killed'

December 1, 2008
My brother has five kids -- the eldest daughter is 14 and the rest are so small. I have four kids, but they are not here. My family is in my village. Now I will have to look after both families at least till the kids grow up. I will take the responsibility for both families. I hope the government provides some financial support for the kids."

"I know of two waiters who were killed, I don't know if there were more. I don't know how many of our customers were killed. I was too distraught at my brother's death to ask for any other details."

"I was always proud of working in Leopold. It's such an old restaurant. And we learn so many languages there. I can take food orders in Arabic, Irani and English."

"On that night, the other waiters told me that the terrorists came in firing. There was nothing anyone could do. The boss will now decide what we need to do about security like checking customer bags and posting armed guards."

"Earlier the only thing we were told was, "If anyone leaves a bag behind, bring it to our notice immediately. Don't touch it or open it or move it.'"

Chand Pasha will return to work, with memories of his younger brother Pir, who was only 42 when the terrorists killed him.
