A shoe that transforms into a sandal
August 04, 2008
You are taking a stroll from the bus stop to the office in scorching sun, but you don't want your socks to get sweaty. So, you change your formal footwear to a pair of casual slippers.

Well, it's possible even without changing the footwear while you walk -- thanks to German scientists who've designed a shoe that transforms into a sandal in seconds just with the flick of a zip.

According to the scientists, the footwear named Nat-2 looks like a regular pair of canvas shoes -- in fact, one can unzip the sole to reveal a pair of sandals. The canvas top can easily be folded up and slipped into a bag.

"Imagine being dressed properly and comfy wherever and whenever. The brand Nat-2 makes it possible by using its two in one system. All tops are interchangeable which allows one to combine colours, materials and styles. By taking one base and various tops you can save weight and gain more space while travelling the world," the Daily Mail quoted a spokesperson for the shoes' German designers K&T as saying.
