The Karnataka police on Saturday picked up a SIMI [Images] activist in connection with the Bengaluru serial blasts.

Tanveer Mulla was detained in Belgaum. A CD and some papers relating to making of bombs were also recovered from him.

Though the police said they were not sure whether he was involved in the blasts, but said  added he would be questioned about his role in the same.

The police said that the main line of investigation in the blasts was centred around the banned outfit SIMI.

Mulla was picked up earlier and released following the court blast at Hubli earlier this year. However, the police found no evidence against him after which he was released.
