A six-day camp by Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, which was scheduled to begin in Kathmandu on Saturday, has been put off till Sunday due to security reasons. The yoga training was scheduled to start at the Tundikhel ground on Saturday afternoon and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala was invited as the chief guest.
"We have postponed the Yoga session till Sunday due to security reasons," the organisers said.
Baba Ramdev said he was asked by the administration to postpone the session as adequate security arrangements had not been made for the programme.
"I have talked personally to Home Minister Krishna Sitoula and he has assured me that the necessary security arrangements will be made from Sunday," he said.
However, thousands of people arrived at the venue on Saturday morning as they did not know that the programme has been postponed. Many were confused as to whether the camp will start or not before the Yoga guru addressed them through private television channels and regretted the postponement.
Approximately 20,000 tickets for the camp -- priced between Rs 500 and Rs 3,000 -- have already been sold.
